Nicole is a visual artist based on the Sunshine Coast since 2009. After several years studying photography in New Zealand, she moved on to more general art studies and to explore creativity in texture and movement with paint.
Nicole’s current painting practice is driven by a sense of exploration into the importance of enduring memories and how composition, colour and brush strokes can create stronger response. As with a certain smell or piece of music, art can conjure deep emotion from passed memories, or happy recent moments, not so much by detail but by emotional response. We all travel, play, socialise and use objects with individual observance so Nicole’s art work, although carefully considered and developed, is loosely portrayed to allow for this individual emotion or interpretation and to create a painterly, relaxed image. Over the years she has completed training through workshops and courses but paints outside on site as often as possible around local beaches and parks which has strengthened her passion for creating more impressionist style art mostly in oils.
Nicole is the newest member to join Seaview Artists Gallery and hopes that locals and visitors alike enjoy coming in to browse the combined artistic pursuits Seaview Gallery members offer and looks forward to meeting clients through regular days in the gallery or perhaps out at the beach while she’s painting!
