Anneke Krijgsman

Anneke was born in Holland and raised in Aruba, which is a small island in the Caribbean Sea. She returned to Holland when she was 16 years of age, where she started work and career in psych/nursing. Her passion for creative arts emerged in her later years from an interesting in textiles, including spinning, dying and knitting. She arrived in Australia in 1988 with her Australian partner.

Starting in 2001, she attended classes in pottery on the Sunshine Coast and fell in love with the medium and continued to progress in this craft. In 2005, she was introduced to the art of textile sculpture at a local show, and started classes in making figurines with materials, such as fabric, wire, foil, and fabric harden.

Her most recent works now combine the art of clay and textiles, which are unique in capturing individual characteristics for her models.
