Janet Matthews

Janet studied and completed a full time four year Art Diploma Course at Wollongong TAFE College. The tutors were well known and respected Sydney artists.

This was the time when abstract painting was the ‘norm’. Janet’s paintings are usually bright and colourful as she has a love of colour, texture and design.

Janet paints and draws in every medium e.g. oils, pastels, pencil, charcoal, acrylics, etc.  However her acrylic paints are always ‘on hand’!

As well as her love of painting, Janet also loves classical music and was a music teacher for over 30 years.  Many people think her paintings express a musical, lyrical feel.

Over the years Janet has won many prizes in competitions, and her paintings have been bought by people far and wide.

Janet has exhibited in galleries in Wollongong, Brisbane and Maleny. She now exhibits at The Seaview Artists Gallery in Moffat Beach.
