Raelean Hall

In pursuit of broader horizons…
Raelean on Broadway

International success has lifted artist Raelean Hall up in the art world this year, scooping the $10,000 Rotary ArtCoast Award for Best Artist of 2011, where she presented her winning artwork “Out in the Elements” to the people of New York.

Juggling a career in fine art whilst undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Arts Therapy, Raelean is in hot pursuit of yet another subject of interest— that of Portraiture.

Out in the elements by Raelean Hall

“My passion for the arts and humanities is a life long pursuit. For years I have searched for a deeper sense of connection with my subjects and feel this creative and therapeutic approach in exploring the subject’s lived experience offers new ground in portrait research. I am also excited by the possibilities of introducing this method of creative inquiry into tertiary education, with my first pilot workshop held in Melbourne in 2012.

My artwork is never stagnant—rather it fluctuates in style and subject matter depending on my creative drive at the time. I still paint traditional natural scenery of the sea and bush, then swing into the semi-abstract world of representation. It’s the best of both worlds for me”.

Raelean  participated in a group exhibition of female international artists celebrating International Women’s Day in New York – March 2012.
